Log

Promised 0.05 ETH to the first to solve the two part puzzle: 2 parts, 1 answer.

Congratulated at least two solvers of puzzle 1, one who took the 0.05 ETH and one who took the 0.0001 ETH left behind, and showed the key.

Called the second puzzle decidedly trickier because the first was solved in hours.

Who this is

A YouTube channel named Crypto Puzzles. Five videos, all from the summer of 2018, and no name anywhere. The descriptions say "our second" once. A person, a pair, a team? Nobody knows, so the record leaves the kind empty.

Not to be confused with Crypto Puzzlers, the Doge's Gambit channel. One letter apart, no known link.

Two puzzles, 0.05 ETH each

Both puzzles work the same way. Two short clips, a 64 character hex key somewhere in the footage, and the prize sits on the address that key opens. The first was taken within hours of its part 2. The second, posted as "decidely trickier", has kept its Ether since August 2018.

How the channel ran it

Fund first, upload later. One address, 0x0a937e…2e15, paid both prizes, each a few days before the first clip went up. The second funding went out 24 minutes before the solution video of the first puzzle. Somebody had a plan.

Then nothing. No hint after part 2, no reply in the comments, no third puzzle. Eight years of people asking "is this still unsolved?" under a video nobody answers.

The record

The author record keeps the channel name, the profile and three facts, each from a video description. Read it through the CLI:

No addresses entry. The funder paid both prizes, but no video says it's the author's wallet. Likely? Sure. Sourced? No.
