Who this is

@oritwoen on X and GitHub. Also the maintainer of this dataset, so yes, the winner wrote the record about the winner. To keep it honest, everything below comes from two public posts and the chain, not from memory.

The Proof Of Writing essay had been up since March 2025, first with 5M XEC, 30M by August 2026. Two hints: Revelations 22:13 and "It can be solved without ai or a computer". Alpha and Omega, first and last. Start at Matter, end at the paragraph with "believe", take word n from paragraph n. Twelve words.

Why it held so long

Words were the easy half. The wallet is Cashtab, and Cashtab puts new wallets on m/44'/1899'/0'/0/0, not on eCash's registered 899. Right seed on the textbook path gives an empty address. Check that first and you'll happily throw the correct answer in the bin.

The claim went out on August 26, 2026 at 23:41 UTC. Next day a post quoting cain's relaunch: solved, solution and key in a few days. A few days turned into a few hours, because cain had already released the seed. So the second post just printed it, with the whole method in three sentences.

What the record says

Two facts, both from those posts: the announcement with the claim transaction, and the seed with the solution. The method sits on the puzzle, as the answer to the Revelations hint. No address. The record keeps the claim transaction, where the coins went is nobody's business.
