The bait
Remember the question from block 11? Do bots scan the chain for MD5 hashes of weak passwords? The author ran the test.
On May 22, 2019 the author funded an address whose key comes from a very low entropy solution. Then waited. No post, no question, just 7 mBTC on the chain. Two days later the money was still there.
So on May 24 the block went public. Question: Thinking only method. Format: [solution]. That's the whole thing.
TOMI
You already know the answer if you read any earlier block. TOMI stands for Thinking Only Method. The solution is TOMI. "And that was all," says the update.
The post went up at 03:56:35 UTC. The claim confirmed at 04:07:01. Ten and a half minutes.
It was a race, and it shows. u/Crypto_Rachel says two people got double spent on, them included. The claim that won paid out 4.8 mBTC and left 2.2 mBTC to the miner. A third of the prize, burned on fees. That's what a lottery looks like on chain.
What the author learned
Nobody swept the bait in two days, so the author concluded bots weren't hunting MD5 hashes of weak passwords. "I now think that there is not much need to worry about outside bots when writing a block." The next blocks lean on that. Block 19 drops the TOMI field because of it.
