The penalty block
May 23, 2019. Block 12 had a wrong capitalization hint, so block 14 pays 77 mBTC. The author calls it "a new way to screw up that has not happened before". Honest.
The question: 14 from 7. Just that. The format is [solution], no TOMI field. The post says the answer isn't something as simple as "2". And the first three digits of the "MP5" hash are 5f8. MP5. Half an hour later an update said MD5.
Players went everywhere. Bit shifts, 7<<1. The 21 chapters of the Wattpad story. The genesis address, tried "in every which way".
Red seven
Hint 1 said the answer was already in the Wattpad story when the block went up. Hint 2, on May 25, was meant to be decisive. Two words: "Red seven."
The thread never explains those two words. What it does give is the answer. The genesis address is 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa. Skip the leading 1. Why? It's the prefix, not part of the address, the author said, and it makes the answer "slightly less obvious". Take the first seven characters and the last seven. A1zP1eP7DivfNa. Fourteen from seven, twice.
The claim confirmed at 08:40:22 UTC on May 25. u/puzzleponky posted the answer three minutes later. They'd tried 1A1zP1e7DivfNa the day before, with the 1. So close.
Totally not me
Before the solve, a comment accused u/mooncritic of being the author's second account. Then it got deleted, along with a whole chain of replies. The winner closed with "And I am certainly not AoiNakamoto". The author's update congratulates "the winner, who is totally not me", and then once more, "who is definitely not me".
The chain adds one fun detail. This claim and the block 16 claim pay the same address, and u/puzzleponky says they solved both, block 16 an hour earlier. That's where the idea for this one came from.
