Oxen
June 7, 2019. The question is one word, oxen. Then a TOMI field. Digits ac7, e and b.
The author expected no hint. Wrong again. Players asked for one on the solution, so the hint says it's another classic riddle, "known for about 1000 years". A thousand years old and still guarding 7 mBTC. Who writes about oxen anyway?
The Veronese riddle
The oxen pull a plough over a white field and sow a black seed. Fingers, paper, a pen, ink. That's the Veronese riddle. The oxen are the fingers. The answer the author wanted is the seed: black ink marks.
u/puzzleponky had the TOMI field a day early and still missed. They tried fingers and thumb, the oxen themselves. The hint pushed them back to the riddle, and the seed did it. Full string, black ink marks TOMI Veronese riddle.
The claim confirmed at 13:15:12 UTC on June 8, a day after funding. Later u/mapl3sn0w noticed oxen gives LCVM in Atbash and MVCL with a Caesar shift of two. Roman numerals both ways. A golden opportunity, missed. Or did the author just not see it?
