May 26, 2019. The question is Third. Full stop included. The solution is a number, and the TOMI field is one word with a capital first letter. Digits 8e9, d and 0.

Third what? u/Quantris thought of the Wattpad story called "Second". Good guess. Wrong guess.

Bitcoin's block reward halves every 210,000 blocks. 50, then 25, then 12.5. The third halving makes it 6.25, and in May 2019 that was still a year away. The TOMI field is the word for the event, Halvening.

The claim confirmed at 16:52:37 UTC, about four hours after the post. Nobody on Reddit posted the string. u/puzzleponky said the winner was a human who isn't on Reddit at all.

u/BrainForceOne had 6.25 and still missed. They spelled it Halving. Same event, different word, wrong hash. That's TOMI for you.

The author worried the TOMI field might have been brute forced. u/silver_anth just called it a solid block. "Make more like this!"
