Six words, wrong direction
May 15. "Six words." One space, no period, MD5 prefix fb8. After block 5, people went hunting for six words with a pattern. That was the hoax.
The real method sits in the previous block. Put the block 5 answer through MD5 and into Ian Coleman's BIP39 tool. Read the mnemonic. Take the first six words: tray around small exercise news alarm. Done.
Nobody in the thread printed those words. The author only described the method. So the record runs it, and the six words derive exactly the key the author later printed as the block 8 link. Nice when that lines up.
Scripts versus humans
The comments are a war. A throwaway account wrote that "around 90% of the blocks were solved by brute forcing", and admitted to explaining script solves as thinking afterwards. u/silver_anth wrote an essay: TOMI fields hurt humans more than bots, because guessing the exact wording is the real puzzle. The author compared it to captcha. Figure out whether your user is a robot, while robots get smarter.
Meanwhile block 6 held. The claim confirmed at 22:11:41 UTC, 13 hours after the post. silver_anth's verdict: "Looks like this was solved by a human player." And u/Quantris? "I really thought this had something to do with Harry Potter."
