Funded early on purpose
August 1, 2019. The author funds block 2 two days before the post. "I am pretty sure this one will not be solved by a robot before posting the block." A couple of minutes before posting, the coins are still there. Point made.
The question is the text
No riddle this time. The question explains the block 77 format on a tiny example. Keep the whole text, change the case of a few letters, the ones that mark Satoshi's "signs". Flip I to i and himself to himselF, for example. Do that for every paragraph where you see a sign. Hash from the first I to the period after method, with \r\n line breaks. The MD5 starts with 3c6.
u/puzzleponky wasn't on Windows, so the copied text came out with plain \n breaks. They asked for the hash of the unchanged text. The author obliged: 7759227, "with three numbers 7 turning up there".
Nobody knows, including the author
The claim confirmed at 14:02:10 UTC, about ten hours after the post. u/JDScreesh congratulated puzzleponky. So what was the solution?
The author's reply is a gem. "One, I actually don't know." Which letters to flip is obvious if you know the Bitcointalk puzzle. How to get from there to the prize isn't, "not even to me". The second reason: the trick helps with the real big block, and the winner earned that edge.
u/bestcoderneeded didn't buy it and said the author must be the solver. Nobody settled it. The next day the account posted Shutting Down, and the Grycoin chain stopped right there.
