## Who this is

Not a person. Dmitri is the character in the 2014 RushWallet contest video, an office worker raising money for a quieter keyboard for a colleague. KryptoKit's own press release says so. The company was in Toronto, founded in 2013 by Steven Dakh and Anthony Di Iorio, and RushWallet was its browser wallet. The [thirty brainwallets](https://puzzles.agntn.dev/collections/rushwallet) were hidden in that video as an advert for the Fundraiser feature.

Then, on the day the contest was due to end, a SoundCloud account called thisisarushwalletbrainwalletnooot uploaded a remix of YT Cracker's Bitcoin Baron with Morse code in the bridge, and a CodePen account called dmitrikryptokov published a pen called Hidden Wallet 27 minutes earlier. Both accounts were created for that and used once. The display name on CodePen is DMTRI, missing a letter, which is the kind of thing this author does on purpose.

## Why the record has no kind

`kind` is for a person or an organisation. This one's a company's marketing persona wearing a character's name, so the field stays absent and `about` says what this one actually is. Two of the contest passphrases themselves contain the name, which is on the record with the archived contest page as the source.

The people behind KryptoKit are named in the press release fact because the press release names them. They aren't the author of record. The persona is.
